For many bloggers and internet enthusiasts, the thought of making money from their online presence has never actually occurred to them. And for those that have considered it, many will feel a move to income generation is a move to the dark side.
But neither has to be the case.
If you have a high quality site that has a good volume of traffic, you could be generating considerable income with very little change.
And here we show you how.
1. Selling Advertising Space
Look at almost any popular website today and there will be adverts somewhere. You may not be able to see them straight away, but if the webmaster has any sense at all, they will be there.
For some, the adverts will be direct visual images seen on the home page. For others it will be more discrete further into the site.
If you would like to sell ad space on your web page, then simply put up a banner with your income requirements and contact details inside. The offers could come in sooner than you think.
2. Become an Affiliate
For a more discreet method of monetising your website, and an easier way to generate income from your blog, consider becoming an affiliate.
In affiliate marketing, you can register with affiliate companies who will then work as the intermediary between yourself and specified merchants that you would like to promote.
Once you have chosen the merchants, and they have agreed for you to promote their brand, you will have access to adverts, product information and even special offers that you can use on your site as you wish.
Every time a viewer then carries out the necessary action on your site, the affiliate company will log the information required and you will be reimbursed for your efforts with payments made directly into your bank account, without you doing anything at all.
Becoming an affiliate means you remain in complete control, but the hard work of finding the clients is done for you.
3. Paid Posts
Did you know there are thousands of websites out there that will pay for top quality posts to be written about them?
You could choose to review other people’s products or simply link through to their site within a related blog that you write on your own pages.
You do have to make sure that you make your readers aware that it is a paid post, to maintain your integrity. But, as long as you don’t do it too often, it can be a very valid form of online income.
4. Sell Your Knowledge
Once you have built up a good knowledge on your specialist subject, put those thoughts down in an online paper or e-book and you can make more cash.
This is a product that you can sell directly from your site. And you have the perfect target market – the people who come to your site anyway.
Generating income from your website doesn’t have to be invasive or disrupt the focus of your blog. But it can ensure you are rewarded for all your hard work.
